St Anthony's Cottage is magnificently situated at Lauragh at the foot of the famous Healy Pass, 14 miles south of Kenmare town on the beautiful Beara Peninsula.

Glenmore Lake
This peninsula has a shoreline of unrivalled beauty, jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean and backboned by the splendid Caha Mountain range. Along it's coast are many islands, lakes and hidden valleys. It is a region of rugged beauty, unspoilt peaceful scenery.

Heritage: The area has much to offer in archaeology and local folklore.
It has many standing stones, stone circles and mass rocks.

Walking: There are many walking routes ranging from a stroll by the river or
lake side to a more energetic climb through the mountains.

Angling: River, lake and shore fishing with tackle and boats available.
There is a cruising boat on Kenmare Bay daily for scenic tours.

Swimming: There are plenty of places both in the sea and lakes to swim.
The seashore in the Lauragh area is gravelly and there is a very fine sandy beach near
Castletownbere, a 45 minute drive away.

Golfing: For the golfing enthusiast there are two fine 18-hole courses
within a 20 minute drive.

Touring: Lauragh is an ideal base for touring the Ring of Kerry,
Ring of Beara or for visiting the Killarney National Park and lakes.


The Cottage offers 2 bedrooms with a cot available on request. Bed linen, duvets and blankets are supplied.
Bathroom with shower, well equipped kitchen including:
Full-size cooker, Microwave, Fridge Kettle and toaster. Iron, Crockery and cutlery Washing machine and tumble dryer.
Sitting / Dining room includes a Television, Open fire, Oil-fired heating, Electricity by meter.
Outdoor table and chairs provided, Pets are welcome.





The small village of Lauragh is 1 km away. It has shops, a post office, church and pub.
Visiting the local pubs can be an enjoyable experience mixing with locals and
visitors in a good humoured atmosphere. Traditional music can often be heard in the pubs.
Derreen Tropical Gardens, renowned for their trees and shrubs, 1km away.
The Lakehouse Restaurant is just around the corner and others in Ardgroom.
Experience the breathtaking views from the top of the Healy Pass, of Glenmore Lake and the Kenmare Bay.
